One Stop Career Centers- There are hundreds of One-Stop Career Centers throughout the country. One-Stops provide free job search assistance and other youth employment services.
When you call or visit a One-Stop Career Center ask for the youth specialist.
Friends or Family- Ask around, you may have a friend or family member who knows of a job opening at their work. This is an ideal situation because they can refer you to the employer.
Classified Ads- Look at your local newspaper or online job postings. The website craigslist.org has a variety of job postings to choose from.
Employment Websites- The following websites specialize in posting employment opportunities. You can find local and nationwide jobs.
monster.com and caljobs.ca.gov and careerbuilder.com
Places of Business- Many employers never advertise jobs. You can find employment opportunities simply by applying at businesses that appeal to you. Be sure to ask for the hiring manager when inquiring about jobs.
Employment Agencies- Employment agencies are everywhere. Call a few different agencies to see which ones have employment opportunities in your field of interest.
Job Fairs- Keep your eyes open for job fairs where you can have the chance to interview on the spot. Your local One Stop Career Center will have a list of upcoming job fairs.
